Prospective study

OBJECTIVES

• To implement the percutaneous PD catheter insertion technique in centers where this strategy was not yet available
• To assess the outcomes of percutaneously inserted PD catheters, both in experienced and newly trained centers.

INCLUSION CRITERIA

• Patients of 18 years and older.
• Percutaneous PD catheter insertion.

EXCLUSION CRITERIA

• Inability to provide informed consent.
• A life expectancy of less than 3 months.

• Belgium (UZ Brussel, Hôpital Erasme ULB, UZ Antwerpen, UC Louvain Saint-Luc, AZ Glorieux, Imelda Bonheiden and CHR La Citadelle)
• The Netherlands (UMC Utrecht, Bravis Hospital, LUMC, Rijnstate Hospital, Amsterdam UMC, Haga Medical Center, Bernhoven Hospital, Isala Hospital, Deventer Hospital, MC Leeuwarden and OLVG)
• Portugal (Centro Hospitalar Universitario do Algarve)
• Slovenia (University Medical Center Ljubljana) 

TIMELINES

All patients receiving a percutaneous PD catheter insertion from March 1st, 2023 onwards will be included. For each participant, the study follow-up ends 12 months after the percutaneous PD catheter insertion at the latest.
